Background: It's sad but cruel. But this little fellow is capable of spreading one of the deadliest and most terrible diseases known to man. So far, only one human being is known to have survived -Rabies. That was a boy in America. With Rabies spreading relentlessly across the continent in our direction, scientist at Bristol University, are hoping to isolate the disease once it gets here. And it's foxes like this, which hold the key to their plan. But how fast is Rabin moving towards us?
Doctor George Ware, of the Bristol University Department of Bacteriology. Surprisingly, it's the fox which holds the key to the next part of the operation. When it defecates, the fox uses a pungent smelling liquid, which warns other animals that foxes are about. The theory is if you spread the smell, other animals won't spread the disease, by entering the infected area. But how to collect the smell.
