Background: To launch a campaign to boost the sale of nylon fabrics and so forth the nylon manufacturers in Britain have staged a colourful, exotic fair at the Royal Albert Hall.

There is plenty here to enchant the ladies and shock the men. For instance there are nylon nighties designed on the Trapeze and Sack lines, technicolour nylon stockings and crepe nylon swimsuits that stretch to give a perfect fitting.

Much imagination has been given to the design and colouring at this exhibition; to whet the appetite, and in stunning contrast to the winter clothes worn by many visitors, soft pinks, vivid blues and greens and warm lilacs are the predominate colours of the dresses, stockings, swimsuits and lingerie.

Fur fabric, designed to fool any mink or beaver, occupies an important place. Special bulked fabrics for the bitter winter, sleek fur fabric coats well within the pocket of the average housewife and a miscellany of jackets boleros and so forth, even ties.

The highlights of the fair are incorporated in a fashion show. There is one Sack-line night called 'Elopement', also a ginger suit, a new lightweight fabric, evening dresses, dinner dresses and, as a finale, a ball gown in nylon brocade, with a huge intricately folded skirt and a tiny bodice embroidered in gold.
