Background: President de Gaulle was filmed by Visnews, June 6, visiting the village of Nebouzat during his 3-day tour in the Massif Central. It was the second day of the tour - the fourth made by Gen. de Gaulle in the French provinces since he became President.
At Nebouzat, the President was greeted by shepherds and by children in colourful local costume, and also a gathering of the village people.
The same day, President de Gaulle also visited Brioude, where he toured a training centre for young Algerian teachers and social workers, and the industrial centre of Clermont-Ferrand. In St. Flour, as his tour opened, June 5, Gen. de Gaulle said that equality of rights would be the basis of future relations between Frenchmen and Algerians, and spoke of his plan to aid the under-developed countries of the world.
