Background: Heavy rain and mist has caused serious setbacks to the South Vietnamese incursion into Laos to cut the communist supply line, the Ho Chi Minh trail. Despite the weather the South Vietnamese have pushed forward, and have encountered heavy resistance from the North Vietnamese. In one of the sharpest actions since the incursion began the two sides have blasted away at each other along the trial with mortar and artillery fire. The South Vietnamese say they've lost six men compared to the 22 deaths suffered by the North Vietnamese.
