Background: Defending champion Bjorn Borg of Sweden and Romania's Ilie Nastase won their way through to the quarter-finals of the Wimbledon tennis championships in London on Saturday (25 June).

SYNOPSIS: Borg, seen here serving, met the number ten seed, wojtek Fibak of Poland. In the early stages of the match it was a close struggle. But, by the final set, Borg had taken control.

Borg won on an ace serve to take the match 7-5, 6-4, 6-2.

Nastase, seeded sixth, beat Tom Okker of Holland in a match which proved to be one of the highlights of the day's play. The two-hour duel featured some superb tennis.

Nastase recovered brilliantly from a nervous start to win 6-8, 6-4, 6-4, 6-4.

Nastase and Borg are to meet in the quarter finals.
