At Dum-Dum airport he was given a ceremonial send-off by Premier Nehru; Burmese Premier U-Nu; Governor of West Bengal. Mrs Padmaja Naidu; and Chief Minister of Bengal Dr. B.C. Roy.
After inspecting a guard of honour, and receiving bouquets from members of Calcutta's Russian community, Premier Khrushchev boarded his Ilyushin 18 aircraft and took off for Kabul, Afghanistan....last stop before returning to Moscow Mar 5.
Premier Khrushchev's itinerary has taken him first to India, then to Burma. on to Indonesia for a 13-day visit, back to Calcutta and finally Afghanistan.
