The East German Head of State, Herr Walter Ulbricht, yesterday (Thursday) received Somalia's Vice-President, Brigadier-General Mohamed Ainanshe Guled for talks in the capital.

Background: The East German Head of State, Herr Walter Ulbricht, yesterday (Thursday) received Somalia's Vice-President, Brigadier-General Mohamed Ainanshe Guled for talks in the capital.
The Somali Vice-President arrived in East Germany six days previously at the head of a delegation which included two members of the Supreme Revolutionary Council and two Ministers.
Herr Ulbricht and Brigadier-General guled Exchanged opinions on East Germany's economic and social structure and various aspects of development in Somalia. According to the official East German News agency, ADN, the talks were held in an open and cordial atmosphere.
The Somali delegation - on a ten-day official visit-is the first high-level Government body to go to East Germany since the two countries established diplomatic relations last April. The delegation arrived on September 4 at the invitation of East German Government and have since attended the annual autumn fair in Leipzig and visited Dresden.
Apart from the Vice-President, the Somali delegation includes Supreme Revolutionary Council members Lieutenant-General Mohamed Ali Shirreh and Major Abdi Warsama Issak; the Minister for Planning and Co-Ordination, Dr. Ahmed Mohamed Mohamoud and the Minister for Public Work, Dr. Ali Hussein.
