On Thursday (24 March) he was visited by Mrs. Imelda Marcos, wife of the president of the Philippines.
SYNOPSIS: Mrs. Marcos, accompanied by her Filipino entourage, was visiting the King following a journey to Libya where she spend 10 days in discussions with Libyan leader Colonel Muammar Gaddafi. The Libyan leader recently mediated between the Filipino government and Moslem moro rebels fighting for an autonomous state in the southern Philippines. The Filipino Minister of Energy, Geronimo Belasco, and the Philippine Charge d'affairs in London, Puablo Araque, met king Khalid the previous week to prepare for Mrs. Marcos' visit.
Another visitor to King Khalid's suite in the Wellington Hospital was a Crown Prince of the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Khaled Bin Saqr al Kasmi. The Crown Prince is among several Arab dignitaries to have visited the King.
The include King Hussein of Jordan, the Prime Minister of the Yemen Arab Republic, Abdel-Azziz Abdel-Ghani; and the Emir of Kuwait, Sheikh Sabah Al-Salem.
