Background: Siamese twins - two girls joined at the pelvis - were born in Georgetown, British Guiana, Feb. 28th. They were recently filmed in Georgetown exclusively by VISNEWS. Their mother is Mrs. Marjorie Harry, who already has a large family.

The twins, Eva and Niva, may be flown to Hammersmith Hospital, London, for separation. One of them - Niva - has a heart defect, and if her health deteriorates, it may be necessary to rush the twins to London for an emergency separation. They would travel by plane in a special oxygen compartment.

In the hospital at Georgetown, nurses and doctors are carefully watching over the 3-week old twins. An oxygen machine is near their bed. The doctor in charge has the X-ray plate which revealed the twins' condition when Mrs. Harry was 6 1/2 months pregnant.
