Background: Once a year in the Australian opal mining town of Lightning Ridge, the residents forget their opals and instead, concentrate on an unconventional recreation. The increasingly poplar sport is goat racing.
SYNOPSIS: Perhaps it is not so surprising in a country renowned for punters prepared to bet on anything from two spiders walking up a wall, to the best horse flesh money can buy. But the beast between the shafts in an organised sulky race is not commonly a furry ruminant of the goat family. some were unruly at the barrier, but once under way the smallest were the swiftest.
The steeds were nimble but uncontrollable. The charge became chaotic when the Iea???ers launch??? a tactical flanking attack on the line by diverting through the crowd.
But with much encouragement and a little help, a victor emerged.
