Background: Some 150 Cadets of the Royal Military Academy of Athens sworn in this morning before the King and the Crown Prince. After taking the Oath, the new officers of the Greek Army received their golden swords from the hands of King Paul. These new officers will be absorbed by the Army and will complete the ranks of the newly formed divisions. And this, for 7 army divisions out of eleven were ready and complete until recently. The Greek General Staff has placed special attention on the increase of the number of officers which will help to augment the fighting value of the new divisions.
It is noteworthy that among the new officers are some/19 young Cypriots who are destined to become the first officers of the contemplated new Cypriot Army.
King Paul and Crown Prince Constantine came to Athens form their Corfu Summer residence yesterday just to attend at the swearing in ceremony of the cadets of the Royal Military Academy of Athens.
