Background: Visnews filmed a bowler-hatted 'Monty' Field Marshal Montgomery - visiting British Premier Harold Macmillan at 10 Downing Street, the Premier's London residence, April 8.
It's assumed by observers they talked about Monty's forthcoming Russian visit.
Montgomery and the British Government have refused to comment on earlier conversations. When asked for details the Field Marshal said "Ask the Premier".
London and Washington are daily emphasizing that Montgomery's trip, which he arranged himself after writing to Moscow, is "unofficial" and "private".
Lord Montgomery's purpose is to study the Russian side of the Cold War. He knows the Western position and he hopes he might find a solution to this 14-year-old problem.
