NKOMO: "Now, the Rhodesian forces have taken the advantage of this, of saying there are around the country some Zipra people, some Zanla people and therefore the Governor has asked to look around and control these people, and sort of attend to bridges. I have said to the Governor (Lord Soames): 'It is right thing to use the Rhodesian forces to right wrongs in the ceasefire, because you are causing confrontation of the Rhodesian forces and the whatever force on the other side, which must not happen. We want to see, as quickly as possible, a movement to one force. We cannot go to independence with a multiplicity of forces. This is vital."
