TRANSCRIPT: (SEQ. 2): O'CONNOR: "One of the interviewers came over to me with a beaker of water -- a white plastic beaker of water and he asked me 'did I want a drink?'. I was really parched and dying of thirst and I said 'yes, I would love a drink' and he handed it to me -- into my right hand -- and with his other hand he knocked the beaker of water from my hand onto the floor. I was roared at and accused of throwing the water over the floor and 'was that what I thought of the drink he was giving me?' -- and finally my legs were kicked from under me and I was made to crawl on my knees on the floor and lick the water -- the beads of water from the floor that landed there. As a matter of fact I could hardly believe, but I was delighted to get the water, even in that form."



(SEQ. 3): LAVELLE: "I was then ordered to run on the spot. And to do press ups and was then told to take off my trousers and run on the spot.



I was then forced to stand in a position --



KYLE: "Can you describe it?"



LAVELLE: "Yes -- legs apart, on your toes,knees bent and arms outstretched. After a period of time in this position your body gets weak and you drop your hands and if I dropped my hands or straightened my knees I was continually slapped on the back of the head."



KYLE: "How long did they keep you in that position?"



LAVELLE: "The first two detectives about 15 to 20 minutes."
