Background: INTRODUCTION In France, the Action Front for the Liberation of Baltic Countries has claimed responsibility for two more petrol bomb attacks on office with Soviet connections -- less than 24 hours after the Soviet Foreign Ministry protested to France over such "piratical acts".

SYNOPSIS: Both explosions were in the centre of Paris. The Editions de Moscou publishing house was the worst hit of the two targets.

The liberation group whose member threw the petrol bombs, is protesting about the Soviet Union's take over of the Baltic states of Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania in 1940. The Soviet Foreign Ministry's protest only the day before had been about a fire bomb attack on the Soviet Embassy last week and demonstrations outside offices of Soviet organisations in Paris, including those of the airline Aeroflot.

The Soviet protest said the piratical raids were hampering the work of Soviet institutions and jeopardising the security of Soviet citizens in France.

The other building attacked was the France-USSR Association offices about two miles (3 kilometres) away north of the River Seine.

Unlike the Editions de Moscou publising house the inside of the building was not wrecked -- but the front door was damaged and the scorch marks of a petrol bomb attack were clearly visible around the first floor windows.
