The 4th English-Hungarian swimming contest took place in the presence of about 6000 spectators. In the 4x100 m medley relay, the English back stroke swimmer managed to win some advantage. The second of the English relay is the white capped Olympic champion, Anita Linsbrough. Klari Killermann was her opponent; the English swimmer could not increase the advantage of her team. The English relay leads with one length. The fittest Hungarian swimmer, Marta Egervari, Butterfly stroke, diminished the disadvantage of the Hungarian relay. After the turn, Egervari increases her strokes and at the end of the length, Maria Frank takes over with an advantage of half of the length. Mary Amos, English swimmer, swam splendidly and outrun the Hungarian swimmer with 1.2 seconds. The english team won.
The Hungarian relay became the second.
Very good was the 200 m free style competition of the men. Lenkei, on the track No.4. took the lead already in the first half of the length. The 17 year old Lenkei is one of the great hopes of the Hungarian swimming sport; after 150 minutes he led without the possibility of being overtaken, and established a record of 2 min. 40.1 sec. The Hungarian team won the contest.
