Background: Brazil foreign minister Horacio Lafer went on a cultural-commercial tour to Argentina, where a cultural treaty was signed at Buenos Aires PALACIO SAN MARTIN, Argentine's foreign office.
On part of the Argentine republic, signed Dr. Diogenes Taboada, foreign minister for Argentina. The treaty provides exchanges of students between the two countries, establishment of spanish and portuguese language classes at both countries' high schools and colleges, free interchange of cultural and informative material, interchange and holding of theatre and cinema festivals of cultural background, etc.
Argentina and Brazil, South America's two greatest countries have been traditionally friendly for centuries, but still no such treaty existed.
