REPORTER: "Why did you get into the sport of drag racing?"



GOODBURN: "Well, I'll tell you how it was today. I guess it was because I didn't know any better. I think that is probably the reason."



REPORTER: "How many years do you plan on continuing to race?"

Background: One of the stars of American drag-racing is Joyce Goodburn. Joyce belies the saying that drag-racing is a young man's port -- he is seventy-two years old. He has the reflexes of a young man. In his fuel-injected racer he can cover a hundred yards (metres) in four second from a standing start, yet he waited until he was sixty-six before beginning his racing career.
