The coffin was followed the King Paul, marching alone and followed by Prince Peter of Greece (the defunct's son), Crown Prince Constantine, Prince Torre Tasse, Prince Michael of Greece and Prince Axel of Denmark. In the cars following the procession were the Queen, the Royal Princesses, the widow and the various princesses of the European Courts. At the end of the queue of cars were the Greek Cabinet headed by Premier Constantine Karamanlis.

Background: The funeral of Prince George of Greece took place in Athens on December 4. The funeral service, conducted by the Archbishop of Athens was held in Athens Cathedral and was attended by the entire Royal family.
After the service, which took place at 10-30 in the morning, the Royal family, all the other dignitaries and personalities, units of the armed forces, the clergy, the Royal guard, court officials and Kings Aides joined the long and impressive procession during its journey from the Cathedral to the burial place at Tatoi.
Only close relatives attended the actual burial at a place chosen by the Prince himself some years ago.
The British Royal family were represented by the funeral by the British Ambassador, Sir Roger Allen, the King of Norway, by Minister Ernst Hougen, and the King of Denmark, by Prince Axel.
Prince George died in Paris on November 30, aged 88.
