Background: A fast game with a difference - that was the verdict after watching international cyclists display their skill April 8 in the World Bicycle-Ball Championships at Krefeld, West Germany.

There are only two men in each team and they are often brothers. The first match played was between Switzerland and France. For Switzerland - in dark shirts - were brothers Adi and Erwin Oberhensli from Chur, world champions in 1960, and for France were Jean Wolf and Rene Boeglin.

After an exciting struggle by the mounted footballers, Switzerland won by 2 goals to one.

Then the Swiss pair were matched against the brothers Bocholz - the German champions of 1959. This game was even faster and provided a thrill-a-minute. The German brothers won the game 9 goals to three and so won the Krefeld prize and the championship.
