Background: Pakistan returned to the Afro-Asian conference in Cairo on Tuesday (II Jan) after boycotting the first day of discussions.

They walked out because of the presence of an observer delegation from the self-styled state of Bangladesh.

But Pakistan returned to the meeting after an appeal from offices at the conference, and after receiving an assurance that the Pakistan point-of-view would be heard.

The meeting opened on Monday (10 Jan) in a tense atmosphere as various delegations discussed the presence of the Bangladesh represent actives.
