    GAY ATMOSPHERE PREVAILED AT KAMAYORAN AIRPORT WHERE INDONESIANS IN VARIOUS COLOURFUL REGIONAL DRESSES WERE ON HAND TO GIVE A SEND OFF TO MR. KHRUSHCHEV AND HIS PARTY, ALONG WITH DIPLOMATIC MEN AND RUSSIAN FAMILIES IN DJAKARTA INCLUDING CHILDREN WHO GAVE GARLANDS TO MR. KHRUSHCHEV.

    IN HIS FAREWELL SPEECH KHRUSHCHEV THANKED SUKARNO AND INDONESIAN PEOPLE FOR THEIR HOSPITALITY AND INVITED SOEKARNO TO VISIT RUSSIA AGAIN WHICH PRESIDENT SOEKARNO ACCEPTED, BUT DATE NOT FIXED.

    AFTER GOOD WORDS TO ALL PRESENT INCLUDING SOEKARNO'S DAUGHTER, AND A HUG TO SOEKARNO, MR. KHRUSHCHEV TOOK OFF AND WHILE ON THE PLANE OVER THE INDIAN OCEAN ON HIS WAY TO NEXT STEP AT CALCUTTA, MR. KHRUSHCHEV SENT ANOTHER GREETINGS BY RADIO TO SOEKARNO.

    THE MAJOR EVENT OF MR. KHRUSHCHEV'S VISIT TO INDONESIA WAS THE SIGNING AT BOGOR ON SUNDAY OF A GBP250,000,000 CREDIT FOR 12 YEARS AT 2 1/2 PER CENT. THE CREDIT IS TO HELP INDONESIA SET UP A STEEL MILL, NON-FERROUS INDUSTRIES, ATOMIC PROJECTS FOR PEACEFUL USES AND TEXTILE AND CHEMICAL WORKS.

    RUSSIA ALSO PROMISED TO UNDERTAKE SURVEYS AND PROVIDE EQUIPMENT AND TRAIN SCIENTISTS IN RUSSIA. THE ATOMIC REACTOR WILL BE INSTALLED AT AN INDONESIAN UNIVERSITY.

    THE NEW SOVIET UNION IS ALMOST DOUBLE OF THE AID GRANTED LAST YEAR BY BOTH RUSSIA AND U.S.A.

    AFTER THE SIGNING THE AGREEMENT THE TOAST WAS IN LEMON SQUASH IN CHAMPAGNE GLASSES.
