Background: At the People's Place in Brazzaville, the new Indian Ambassador, Mr Surandra Singh Aliradjpur, presented his credentials on Saturday (10 April) to President Marien Ngouabi.

In his address to the President, Mr Singh referred to India's long struggle against colonialism, and announced that Mrs Indira Gandhi's new Government had decided to give important technical aid to the People's Republic of the Congo.

Replying, President Ngouabi expressed satisfaction at the common attitude of the two countries towards international problems and at the increased contacts between them.
