I am so excited that my brother, Thaddeus found this film. We have never had any film of this race which was historical to our family! Thaddeus Freeman, Theresa Freeman Collins and 9 other children are the great grand children of Rosa M Hoots. The 1924 trophy was stolen from her home in the early 1930's (along with the Louisiana, Chicago, Ohio trophies) and we launched a campaign to try and locate them. In 2000, the Chicago derby trophy re-surfaced from a family who had taken Richard (my father's, Rosa's Grandson) in after his mother had passed away & Rosa had passed away as well. The family become close to the family and we still have no clue as to how they wound up with the Chicago trophy. They have given us their version, but it never lined up with what my late father's account was. Then in 2000, when we were unable to locate any additional trophies, we had a replica made of the 1924. Then in 2015, it was determined the original 1924 located in a MSY pawn shop was ours.
