Background: Pending the Balkan Aeroclub competition and on the occasion of 136th anniversary of liberation of Tripolis (Peloponnesus) from the Othoman yoke, the Royal Hellenic Aeroclub organized at this city's permanent airfield a special gliding exhibition. The best gliders and gliding pilots from Athens, Salonika, Alexandroupolis, Rhodes and Tripolis participated in this contest, the winners of which received various prizes from the hands of Vice-Chief of the Royal Hellenic Airforce, Brigadier Geranopoulos. The Royal Hellenic Aeroclub crews are considered among the best of the Balkans.
