Although Guy Perillat of France came third in both qualifying events - the Downhill and Slalom - he emerged the overall winner of the Combined with a total of 1.54 points.
Pepi Stiegler of Austria was outstanding in the Slalom, for he had the best time in both runs. His compatriot, M. Burger, was second, and other Austrians were fourth, fifth, eighth, and ninth.
