Background: Every year about are hundred and 20 farmers from African nations take part in two special courses in Taiwan. The farmers, from two-dozen African states spend about five months on the island, where they study the latest techniques of rice production developed by the Taiwanese farmers. In and come 600 African farmers have taken part in the courses during the last ten years.
