    SAMBAUR: No, we wish the American troops to stay on even after that.



    REPORTER: Have you submitted a request to that effect to President Nixon?



    SAMBAUR: Yes, I have thought that I will make that request to President Nixon.



    REPORTER: Do you know when that request will be made? Will it be soon?



    SAMBAUR: Yes. As soon as possible.



    REPORTER: How long do you want the American troops to stay?



    SAMBAUR: I don't know.



    REPORTER: No matter how long that is?
