Background: On the morning of the 23d. January, the sub-committee of Human rights left Ledra Palace where they reside at 08.00 o'clock in the morning.
The first village they visited was 'Afania' which was under continuous night curfew for seven months. At first they met the Turkish representatives. Turkish villagers surrounded the building of the meeting with flags and slogans.
Later they met with the representatives of the Greek comminution the building of the Greek elementary school. They were welcomed by the Greek population in enthusiastic applaud and young girls offered them flowers.
On their way to some other villages they passed and visited the old Town of Famagusta. Next was the village of Paralimni where they were received by the people with great enthusiasm.
