Background: Mrs. Dorothy Fast has filed for a divorce form her husband of 27-years. But when she told her friends about the event she promised there'd be no tears or trauma for her...she decided to celebrate the occasion with a divorce reception.
OUT (VISUAL OUT) Mrs. Fasts son and daughter in law want slog with the idea...They had formal engraved invitations printed up and hired a local restaurant to cater the affair.
For most couples going through the sticky process of obtaining a divorce...the event is a traumatic experience.
The husband is miserable...the wife is miserable...and so are most of their friends. But for one New Hope, Pennsylvania woman the event called for only one thing...a big party.
Robin Mackintosh reports 85-close friends of the Fast's attended the divorce party and they all looked like they were having a good time.
OUT: (LAUGHTER) The reception included all the trimmings including an open bar...sit-down lunch and a three-tier divorce cake.
I asked Mrs. Fast how she got the idea.
OUT:At a wedding reception its customary for the bride to throw her bouquet to the waiting unmarried females. Mrs. Fast changed that tradition around a bit by tossing her wedding ring into the lake.
