EDDE: "What surprise me is that all the Arab leaders meeting at Riyadh did not realise that the south of Lebanon was occupied by Israel. And this is very serious because Israel quite likes the idea that the Lebanon is occupied by Syria, because that gives Israel a reason to occupy the Lebanon up to the Litany River which they have wanted badly since 1919. It can't be Arab forces because Arab forces are enemy forces. So what I myself complain about for the moment is the presence of Israelis, which is against the armistice agreement, in Lebanese territory. We have not thought of a way to stop the Israeli Army from penetrating when it wants, how it wants in southern Lebanon. Therefore there is a question mark asking which force is going to be the one to fight the Israeli forces. The Syrian forces? I say quite frankly that they are accomplices of the Israeli forces because in the Golan Heights a big door has been opened to allow Jews from both sides of the front to meet each other. So officially, the Israeli army and the Syrian army allow the Israeli army to operate a door to allow the Jews of Israel to meet their relatives of Dgebel. Therefore, the Syrian forces can't stop the Israeli forces from getting into Lebanon."
