Background: An agreement between the People's Republic of the Congo and The People's Republic of China was signed at the Congo Foreign Ministry in the capital, Brazzaville, on Saturday (13 April).
It was a protocol agreement covering co-operation in the field of public health in the Congo.
The Congo People's Republic was represented by Public Health Minister Dr. Claud Alphonse Empana and of his aides, Mr. Edouard Mbaloula. The People's Republic of China was represented by its Ambassador to the Congo Lu Shi-hsien and his Counsellor for Economic Affairs.
Several agreements have already been signed between the two People's Republics. They covered improvements to the Kiusoundi University and the Makelekele and Talangai hospitals, the building of a dam in the Bouenza and the building of a general hospital at Fort Rousset.
