Background: The former Algerian Revolutionary leader krim Belkacem was found strangled in a Frankfurt Hotel on Tuesday night (October 20). According to the West German authorities M. Belkacem was believed to have been dead since Sunday (18 October).
His body was found in one of four rooms taken in the Frankfurt Intercontinental Hotel by four men, one Algerian and three Moroccans, now being sought by the police. Two of the men checked out of the hotel on Monday without paying their bills and third checked out yesterday (Tuesday) also without paying his bill.
Krim Belkacem, one of the original leaders of the seven-year Algerian struggle against French rule, left Algeria in 1962. Last year he was sentenced to death in his absence accused of heading a conspiracy against the Algerian Government of President Houari Boumedienne.
