Background: Tennis -- and superstar John McEnroe today blitzed Britain's John Lloyd in the first round of the rich Grand Prix Tournament in London on Wednesday (14 November). Playing before a packed gallery in the Wembley Arena, the American dismissed Lloyd six-four, six-one. McEnroe is hot favourite to take first prize.
SYNOPSIS: McEnroe arrived in London fresh from his win in the Stockholm Open ... and it was obvious from the start that the sparkling left-hander wanted to dominate the ninety-thousand pound (about 190,000 U.S. dollars) prize money.
But Britain's Number Two showed he too could hit winners off McEnroe's service.
However, McEnroe completely dominated the second set...winning this point and the set six-one. The American champion's second round match will be against another Briton ... Robin Drysdale.
