    OWNED BY 45-YEAR OLD MR. DAVID McSORLEY, WHO IS SAILING AS A CREW MEMBER ALONG WITH HIS WIFE AND DAUGHTER, THE"THELMA" HAS TAKEN TWO YEARS AND GBP20,000 TO REFIT. THE 63-TON KETCH IS CARRYING GOODS SUPPLIED BY 45-MANUFACTURERS, MANY OF WHICH ARE PART OF HER FITTINGS AND EQUIPMENT. FOR THIS THEY PAY A FEE OF GBP210 PER-YEAR. AT EACH OF HER SCHEDULED TWENTY-TWO PORTS OF CALL, THE "THELMA" WILL GIVE DEMONSTRATIONS TO THE VARIOUS TRADES CONCERNED. SHE HAS ALSO BEEN REQUESTED BY THE SOCIETY OF OCEANOGRAPHY TO UNDERTAKE RESEARCH WORK THROUGHOUT THE CRUISE.
