Background: SYNOPSIS: ANNCR: An important visitor to the site of the 1962 Seattle World's Fair this week was New York's Governor Nelson Rockefeller, whose state will host a World's Fair in 1964. In Seattle, Washington to speak before the American Municipal Association, the Governor is greeted at World's Fair headquarters by Fair President Joseph Gandy who gives Mr. Rockefeller a briefing on construction and planning progress at the site. Joined in their tour by Seattle's Mayor Clinton, they take in the giant Century 21 Coliseum Building which will house the theme exhibit of man in the space age of the twenty-first century. From the Coliseum Building, Governor Rockefeller gets a look at construction of the 600 foot space needle which is the theme center of the Fair. The needle -- now 250 feet high -- will include at completion when the Fair opens next April, a revolving restaurant one-eighth of a mile in the sky. As it revolves, visitors will get a panoramic view of the Fair grounds, the city of Seattle, and the spectacular view of Puget Sound and Mount Rainer. The Governor concludes his visit by looking at construction progress on the U. S. Government's huge Science Pavilion which will house $9 million in exhibits, and then once again he reviews the overall Fair layout.
