Background: The town folk of Hampton, Iowa, USA, celebrated with an old-fashioned barbecue, just as their grandfathers did, before setting out on a `cattle drive' across the land. From earthern pits full of coals the tasty `smoke-cooked' beef is served to thousands of Iowans, gathered to give a rousing send-off to the largest ever `CATTLE DRIVE BY ROAD'.

Operation Sirloin, and fifteen hundred head of beef with a `dead' weight of 1 1/2 million pounds are taken for a ride on the last round-up.

High stepping `drum majorettes' are there to see them on their way, and on to Chicago and the stockyards the sixty two G?C cattle trucks rolled, a modern caravan five miles in length.

In chicago the fortunate shippers from empty pens, and a brisk market.
