    Amateur Athletic Association Championship at White City Stadium brings excitement. Thrilling finish to the three miles race between Chataway and Ibbotson. A schoolboy discovery John Young's surprise victory in the 100 yards race.

    GV. Runners lined up at the start line (titles super over). SCU. Chataway's feet, pan up to Chris Chataway standing ready for the start of the three mile race. LV. Runners all ready to start race. They set off to start race. Runners pass camera, camera pans to back view with Chris Chataway and Derek Ibbotson moving up to the front. SCU. Angle shot, past camera, Ibbotson leading followed by runner No 3. Chataway laying about 4th. The other runners pass camera. Towards, Ibbotson leading field with Chataway 2nd and M. Maynard third. LV. Pan, Ibbotson leading, Chataway lying 2nd and Maynard lying third. There is about a yard between Chataway and Ibbotson. SV. Crowd cheering and clapping. LV. Pan, Ibbotson and Chataway now out on their own with Ibbotson slightly in front. Chataway makes a burst, goes to the front and makes about one yard gap but Ibbotson comes up to level with Chataway, then goes slightly ahead and breaks the tapes. SV. Ibbotson comes over after race and pats Chataway on the back (Chataway bending over getting breath). Ibbotson smiling. SCU. Chataway smiling and panting for breath after having shaken hands with Jack Crump, Secretary of the AAA. He walks away smiling. LV. Pan, start of the 100 yards race. There is a tremendous battle for the lead. Young, No 59, seems to be slightly in the lead. LV. Towards, Young breaks the tape and runs past camera. CU. John Young after the race being congratulated. He stands there smiling and puffing.
