Description

Item title reads - The Aerial Derby. J.H. James - On Mars I, last to start and first back - wins, flying at 163 miles an hour. Hendon, Greater London.

Various shots as the starting flag is waved and the aeroplanes taxi. L/S as they take off and various shots at they fly. Alan Butler flies in a Bristol 29.

Intertitle - 'Mr. D.S. Forestier-Walker had a narrow escape'.
M/S of a Sopwith Pup which has crashed nose down and is sticking out of the ground, people stand round it. M/S of the wheel and the wreckage, Dring Leslie Forestier-Walker climbs out and shakes hands with Jimmy James. C/U as he smokes a cigarette and talks to someone off camera.

The trophy is presented to the winner, Jimmy James, and the crowd applauds him. He then puts the trophy down to receive another one.
