Captain H.C. Gray achieves a new record when his hot air balloon hit new heights.
Item title reads: " All altitude records broken. Capt. H.C Gray attains height of 8 miles - 2,000ft. higher than previous record."
Belleville, United States of America (USA).
A large balloon is seen emerging from a vast hangar, guided on ropes by a team of men, who are spread out to each side in long lines. They walk in formation, turning to lead the balloon out into the open of the field. The pilot wears a leather coat and dons a flying helmet and complex looking breathing apparatus. C/U as he straps himself amid loads of ropes and cables. M/S as the balloon lifts off, gaining height as the onlookers look upwards .
Note: The equipment looks scary -good illustration for 'don't get yourself all tied up', 'its a knotty problem', and 'don't catch your breath'.
