Back to the decoration ceremony (outdoor): others receive French medals. CU nurse showing her medal. Refugees (?) walking up dirt road in country; soldiers stand at right. Flag on tall pole in front of house - looks like French flag dyed dark colour. Pan down to group of villagers with soldiers - they break into applause. L/S of USA flag in window; pan down to villagers standing outside the building. Troops working at timber yard (? - railway, docks?).
