    Russian leaders lay a wreath at the Cenotaph, visit Buckingham Palace, call on No 10 Downing Street and entertain British Government and opposition leaders at the Soviet Embassy at Kensington Gardens.

Marshal Nikolai Bulganin, Soviet Prime Minister, and Nikita Khrushchev, Secretary of the Soviet Communist Party, carrying their five foot high wreath of white lilies and red flowers to the plinth of the Cenotaph.
