I was four years old when this happened and remember it being a beautiful day and I was playing in the garden when suddenly a dreadful noise filled the air and the sky turned black. I believe six houses were destroyed by the crash and the daily newspapers called it 'The Miracle of Happy Valley Valley.' This was because none of the house occupants were killed. I suppose they had either gone to work and were taking the children to school. I was only about 30 feet away from the crash site but remember running up the garden path and banging on the back door for my mother to let me in.
