BRITISH LEGION 1939. The band leading the parade is the Coldstream Guards' band. They had not long returned from playing at the British Pavilion at the New York World's Fair in The United States of America. This particular duty would be the last which a Guards' band sported the pre-war gold-fronted musician's tunics, which can be seen in detail on the 'stills' facility.
