Miss Joan Brunton is the little girl swimmer who astonished every body by swimming from Dover to Deal - (10 miles) in 2 hours and 51 minutes. Joan skips with a rope on the beach. "Joan just can't help keeping fit - but she's already watching the weighing machine closely - (and the 9st 4 lbs it registers now!)" Joan stands on the scales in her swim gear. C/U of her laughing at the scales. Joan is hoping to swim the Channel in 1929.
