AMERICAN AIRMEN ARE SANTA CLAUS TO ORPHANS
GV. Hangar at Wethersfield Air station - men outside collecting donations for orphans. SV. One of personnel walks up and is introduced to the collection box, he takes out his wallet. CU. Man collecting and the man giving, pan down to hand putting money in box. GV. Two more approach, wallet is open and money put in. The other man stands by opening his wallet. CU. One of the collectors calling out to men to put their money in, pan to show board with "Christmas Nights" written on it. CU. One of the collectors beckoning car. SV. He stops car and driver drops money into box.
GV. Unloading of cargo brought from Germany. SV. Cargo is taken from aircraft and put on back of truck. SV. Goods being carried from truck towards officers club for packing. STV. The goods are carried towards the officers' club. GV. Pan, interior of the club showing wives packing up Christmas stockings with various toys and goods. GV. The two men appear with their box of goods and put them on the floor. GV. Pan as the packing goes on. SV. Wife carrying full stockings away from packing desk. SV. She takes them to counter where they are piled up with other finished stockings.

Miss Bell speaking (natural sound): "Ladies and gentlemen, when I was asked to come here to lunch today, I felt it a very great honour and privilege to represent all the staff of my hospital and I now feel that it's a great privilege to meet all you people belonging to this association. I have heard this lunchtime, something of the good work you have done for the children." SV. Members listening. SV. Miss Bell continues speaking: "On behalf of all the staff and of the patients of Lewisham Hospital, I give you my most sincere thanks for the very wonderful gifts. I will certainly see that the children and the patients and staff of the hospital have a very wonderful Christmas and this will help it.
