    Modern agricultural methods of cotton harvesting in Turkestan (Soviet Union, USSR) and experiment to test strength of stand of thread (location of events unknown, probably Eastern Europe judging by writing on car window).

    C/U of cotton growing on bush. C/U of handheld pipe that sucks cotton off plant. M/S of harvesting machine in middle of field. Women hold long pipes attached to machine to suck up cotton (like a vacuum cleaner). C/U of women using pipes, tilt up to show pipes leading to machine. M/S of man opening vat in machine, another man pushes down pile of cotton inside vat to make room for more. C/U of pile of freshly picked cotton.

    M/S of car driving onto a platform, surrounded by a wooden frame. Various shots of men suspending lots of threads of cotton from the frame and under the car. The platform is then removed. Various shots of car, seen through a wall of cotton threads. A man strokes his hand down threads - according to narrator during experiment not one thread broke! Various shots of man sitting in car suspending in hammock of string, another man climbs on the roof of the car.
