    Truman is driven through Independence in an open car. He waves to the crowds lining the streets. He and his daughter Mary Margaret he visits his summer home on Delaware Street. Truman, his daughter and a group of others walk towards the town Auditorium. Inside we see crowds of people in the flag-decorated hall listening to Truman making speech. Truman's wife, Bess, and his daughter are on the platform with others.

    Natural sound as Truman makes speech, saying "There are two things that I must accomplish as President of the United States. The first one is to win the war with Japan, and we are winning it! The next one is to win a peace." Applause from the crowds.
