Old and new fashions are contrasted - Isobel Elsom models a costume from the play "Sweet Lavender".
Intertitle reads: "Some Grandmas are so fond of talking about the "sweet simple dresses they used to wear" - here's Miss Isobel Elsom in one, in "Sweet Lavender".
An old-fashioned dress with a large bustle is modelled. Things are brought up to date - 1923 style - with the very latest fashions. Old and new are contrasted by means of dissolves. There is a very short C/U of Isobel.
Safety print exists.
Note: I assume that "Sweet Lavender" was a play of the time although I can't find a reference to it in "The Footlights Flickered".
