Reel 3.

Michel takes our heroine to visit his aunt and uncle in the countryside. They hitch a ride from the fat man who was on the bus. Views of the countryside. Shots of the two lovebirds. The truck breaks down and he insists they walk on and leave him. They borrow a couple of donkeys to ride on. They arrive at a tiny stone hut in the country. Two women and an elderly man greet the couple. A traditional ceremony is performed to welcome strangers, this involves wine and bread.

01:13:15 - A cousin of Michel's arrives with a rabbit - this will be lunch. Our couple go for a walk. The family eat their meal and play instruments. Our heroine is given a traditional gift - goats milk cheese. Men play guitars in a cellar bar. They have a farewell drink, and their first - and last - dance. They drink wine by candlelight. They dance cheek to cheek. They walk together in the dark silent streets. They kiss by the gangplank of the ship. Funnel blows. She waves from the deck of the ship. She promises to write. They wave to each other. The ship sails into the night.
